Who we are
Lathe Calculator is run by Sean Forrest, a UK sole trader, who is the data controller for this website (lathecalculator.co.uk). Contact: lathecalculator@outlook.com. Contact us by email; a postal address is available on request.
What this site collects
The site itself collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, forms, adverts, analytics, cookies, tracking pixels or social media widgets. The calculators run entirely in your browser, and the numbers you type never leave your device.
Hosting and security logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages by Cloudflare, Inc. To deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages and time of your request. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the site available and secure. Cloudflare acts as our processor and may process this data outside the UK, including in the USA. It relies on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We don’t use this data to identify visitors, and we don’t keep our own logs.
Saved preferences
Your choices of metric or imperial units, Simple or Detailed mode, and machine are saved in your browser’s local storage, so they’re remembered next time. They never leave your device. See the cookie and storage notice.
If you email us
We use your email address and message only to reply (lawful basis: legitimate interests). Messages are held in our Microsoft Outlook mailbox and deleted within 12 months, unless we need to keep them for a legal reason.
Sharing, children and automated decisions
We don’t sell or share personal data, except with the providers named above to run the site and our email. We make no automated decisions or profiles about you. The site isn’t aimed at children.
Adverts, affiliate links and analytics
There are none at present. This notice will be updated before any adverts, affiliate tracking or analytics are added, and we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To use any of these rights, email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We’d appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.
